Cochins
Cochins are a very docile breed of chicken and make great backyard chickens. They have feather legs and their tails are more of a "bun" instead of sticking straight out. It's one of the most adorable sights to see one of these chickens running across the yard in their "pantaloons" which is what their feather legs resemble. These are by far one of my favorite breeds of chicken.

Mille Fleur and Calico
Mille Fleur and Calico cochins are not an accepted color variety yet. This is considered a project color and there are many breeders working towards them accepted. Calico is just the Mille Fleur coloring with too much white, giving the bird the look of a calico cat. The first picture is a young Mille Fleur rooster, next is a calico hen and last is a Mille Fleur hen.
Splash Cochins
The splash color is also not a recognized color variety but there are breeders working on getting it accepted as well. Splash is compatible to breed with blue and black colored cochins. Splash is more widely known and worked with than the Mille Fleur/Calico variety.
Barred Cochins
Our Barred pen is a work in progress at the moment. We have only one rooster and he is not the standard barred color because of his white hackle feathers but he's just too pretty to part with so we are going to see what we get when we breed him with our up and coming barred pullet. Barred is a recognized color variety.
